Juanita Iverson Jenkins, 91, of Delaware, Ohio, departed this life Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 4:59 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born August 5, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Homer Iverson and Dorothy Jackson, residing in the area since November 2014, coming from Boardman. She was raised by her aunt, Ola Iverson.

Mrs. Jenkins was employed at the Moyer Company for 31 years as a seamstress, before retiring in 1984.  

She was a member of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, the Buckeye Elks and enjoyed crossword and piece puzzles, reading and playing bingo.

She also graduated from East High School.

She married Booker T. Jenkins October 18, 1980, he died August 15, 1988.

She leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Fay (Randy) Leigh and Ms. Genia Campbell both of Columbus; two sisters, Ms. Lillie M. Thompson and Ms. Rosalie Hall both of Cincinnati; one grandson, she lived with, Darrin K. (Melanie) Iverson of Delaware; two granddaughters, Ms. Tylonda Jenkins and Ms. Justina Head both of Columbus; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ms. LaRee Iverson and one grandson, Kevin L. Iverson Sr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday, March 30.

Burial will take place at Meadow Brook Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.

A television tribute will air Thursday, March 28 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
