LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – William “Bill” Richards, Lackawannock Township, formerly of Hartford, Ohio, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2020, in his residence surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He was 76.
Mr. Richards was born April 13, 1943, in Sharon, a son of Emmett and Ruth (Bishop) Richards.
Bill was employed with National Castings for 19½ years then went to work at Wheatland Tube until 2006.
Bill was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he was a Eucharistic minister.
He was in the U.S. Army from 1960 – 1963. Bill was a proud member of the Wheatland-West Middlesex Honor Guard.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved four-wheeling and traveling with his wife and family. He coached his girls’ softball teams and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Bill could fix anything and God and his family were most important to him.
He married his wife, Norma (Boles) Richards on July 25, 1964. She survives at home. Also surviving are three daughters, Carrie Weimer and her husband, Christopher, Mercer and their children, Mackenzie Mihalcak and her husband, Logan, Boardman, Ohio; Madison French and her husband, Matt, Jacksonville, North Carolina; Julie Tyillian and her husband, Timothy and their children, Chandler William Tyillian, Chloe and Chase Tyillian, all West Middlesex, Billie Jean Horvath and her husband, Eric and their children, Macie, Ashlynn and Erica Horvath, all Hermitage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Andrusky and two brothers, George and Robert Richards.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, services were private.
Burial is in Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
