SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) -Richard J. “Jim” Ramsey, 79, of Sharpsville, died at 4:06 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, in Sharon Regional Medical Center due to the COVID-19 virus.

He was born on February 27, 1942, in Hickory Township, to Isabelle (Lamont) Ramsey and Richard C. Ramsey.

He graduated from Hickory High School.

He was employed at N.S. Corp in Wheatland, Stambaugh’s in Hermitage and Champion Steel.


He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.


He was a veteran of the Air Force.

Jim was a jack-of-all-trades guy that enjoyed music, drawing, art, woodworking and being a scout leader. He was a Little League coach for his son Robert. He also enjoyed shooting, archery, swimming and roller skating.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Fleming) Ramsey, at home, whom he married July 12, 1975; daughters, Sunday McLaughlin and her husband, Mike, of West Middlesex and Melissa Ramsey of Hermitage; sons, Robert M. Ramsey of Transfer and Justin S. Ramsey and his wife, Jacki, of Sharon; brother, Donald W. Ramsey and his wife, Donna, of Jefferson Township; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 14, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. in Hermitage.
