MERCER, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Phyllis M. “Aunt Toe” Torrance, 95, of Mercer, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday morning, June 21, 2022, in Quality Life Services, Mercer, of natural causes.

Born May 11, 1927 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Ruth (Livermore) Johnson and Alfred Johnson, Sr., Phyllis graduated from Hickory High School and was a homemaker.

“Aunt Toe” loved traveling to the beach and camping with her daughter and son-in-law where she made many friends along the way. “Toe” had a very large collection of frogs. She never met a frog she didn’t like. She will be missed dearly.

Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Donna Duncan and her husband, Barry, of Chiefland, Florida; a sister, Mary Snyder of Mercer, Pennsylvania and two brothers, Charles Johnson of Greenville, Pennsylvania and Alfred Johnson, Jr. of Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore “Ted” Torrance, whom she married January 23, 1948 and he passed away December 7, 1977 and a brother, George “Buck” Johnson.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2630 East State Street, Hermitage, PA 16148. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
