FARRELL, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Mary Vance, 91, passed away peacefully at home Friday, January 22, 2021 with her son, Joseph, by her side.
Mary was born March 17, 1930 in Sharon, Pennsylvania the beloved daughter of Domonic and Jessie Christello.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of Farrell High School.
She married the love of her life, Armando Vance, on August 20, 1951 at Our Lady of Fatima Church. They were married for 52 years. She lived on Roemer Blvd with her family for 65 years.
Mary was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima. She baked Easter Bread every year and made pasta every Thursday with the other ladies of the church.
Mary worked as a crossing guard for the city of Farrell for 24 years at the corner of Roemer Blvd. and Indiana Avenue.
For many years Mary and Armando could be seen at Buhl Park walking and socializing with friends. In later years she would walk at Fatima Hall three to five days a week. She loved attending Farrell High basketball and football games and cheering the Steelers on with her son, Marc. Mary loved her family and the city of Farrell and will be missed by many.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mary had two sons, Joseph (L’Oreal) Vance and David Vance and his two children, Brittany and Ethan.
Mary’s family wants everyone to know that she was a healthy lady and never contracted the COVID-19 Virus. May God keep her in His loving embrace now and for all time.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Armondo Vance and a son, Marc Vance
