HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Marie Josephine (Maietta) Geisler, 88, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community in Greenville, Pennsylvania of COVID-19 complications.
The always-spirited Marie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1932 to Fiore and Carmella Maietta. She was the youngest of three children and is preceded in death by her brother, Fiore Maietta, Jr. and sister, Adeline Sicilia.
Marie lived in the Pittsburgh area her entire life until 2010, when she and her husband moved to Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
Growing up in a big Italian family inspired her dedication to the important things in life: family, good food and sticking up for what you believe in. Marie loved her family, travel, Bingo and her Pittsburgh Pirates.
She will be missed by everyone she leaves behind, especially her beloved husband of 70 years, Edward L. Geisler. Marie was the loving mother to three, Deborah (Michael) Lavin, Edward (Jean) Geisler and Carmela Geisler; adoring grandmother to seven, Kelly (J.P.) Delmore, Brian Geisler, Michael Lavin, Maria (Zach Saunders) Morris, Victor (Megan) Letky, Sara (Hunter) Sessi and Staci (fiancé, Kenny Rose) Kost and caring great-grandmother to three, Ava Geisler, Bennett Geisler and Isabelle Rose.
A Memorial Mass and celebration of life will be scheduled in the future for family and friends.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are being handled by John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
