SHARON, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Margaret “Peggy” Portal, 67, of Sharon, passed away unexpectedly at 7:08 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Sharon Regional Health System.
She was born on May 12, 1953, in Sharon, to the late Gertrude (Means) and Bernard Dickson.
Peggy graduated from Sharon High School in 1971.
She retired from Pizza Joes in Sharon.
She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir.
Peggy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, going on several mission trips and going to New York City with Ann Baker to help feed to homeless. She was a huge movie buff. She was a coach for Special Olympics and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by sons, Alex Portal III and his wife, Rachel, of Lead, South Dakota and A. Jermaine Price of Sharon; sisters, Sherry Hagman and her husband, Jim, of Health, Ohio and Jean Dickson of New Hampshire; brothers, Larry Dickson and his wife, Peg, of Saegertown, Pennsylvania and Jim Dickson and his wife, Lori, of Maryland and grandchildren, Rayanne Doty of Sharon and Vicki Newkirk and her husband, Sean, of Kent, Ohio.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Amanda Doty and a sister, Donna Martin.
Services are private at this time.
Burial will be in America’s Cemetery.
