SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – James D. Cataldi, 89, of Sharpsville, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, after a brief illness
He was born on September 3, 1931, in Sharon, to Antonia and Nick Cataldi.
He attended Sharpsville School District.
James was a crane man for Shenango Furnace in Sharpsville and Valley Mold in Hubbard, Ohio, for over 40 years.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
James was a member of the Sharpsville VFW.
He very much enjoyed raising champion Beagles, fishing, hunting and raising honey bees.
James is survived by daughters, Jean Ann Esmond and her husband Gene, of Sharpsville and Susan Torongeau and her husband, John, of Sharon; sons, Nick Cataldi and his wife, Laurie, of Sharpsville, and Vincent Cataldi of Sharpsville; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Olive and three brothers, Dominic, Angelo and Sante.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
