FARRELL, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Edward Albert Woods, 87, of Farrell, passed away after an extended illness at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, in his residence.
He was born on October 25, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, to O’Neil (Drake) and J.D. Woods.
He graduated from Sharon High School in 1952.
Mr. Woods worked at National Castings Division as an inspector for 25 years.
He served in the Army.
He enjoyed cycling for many years, playing tennis and softball. He was a Cleveland Browns fan.
Mr. Woods is survived by daughter, Karen Irby and her husband, Gregory, of Sharon; sons, Kirk Woods and his wife, Elke, of Germany and Keith Woods of Sharon; sister, Mariam Rhoads of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a special friend, Richard Hughes, whom Edward mentored.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John, Donald and LeVert Woods.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 6, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2630 East State Street, Hermitage, PA 16148.
Burial will be in America’s Cemetery.
