HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Calvin “Ed” Brodish Sr., 81, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in his residence, after an extended illness.
He was born August 20, 1939 to the late Fred and Vera (Wieland) Brodish of Cresson, Pennsylvania.
Ed was the owner and meatcutter of Ed’s Golden Dawn, in Sharon and also the owner of Hickory Beer Distributor, in Hermitage, for over 20 years. Ed retired from Wheatland Tube Corps in 2007.
He enjoyed hunting, woodworking in his shed and he loved picnics with his family.
Ed married his wife, Dorothy (Durkos) Brodish, on August 27, 1960, she survives him at home. Also surviving are Ed and Dorothy’s four children: their sons, Calvin “Ed” Brodish, Jr. of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, Martin Brodish and his wife, Kim, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; their daughters, Lori Adams and her husband, Rick, of Greenwood, Indiana and Tina Badnek and her husband, Marc, of Winchester, Virginia. Surviving siblings include brothers, Harry Crook and Cleon Brodish and sister, Gail Musial, of Hermitage Pennsylvania. Ed also leaves behind six grandchildren, Katrina McGrath, Hannah Brodish, Emma Badnek, Grace Badnek, Dylan Adams and Jenna Adams, along with six great-grandchildren, Brayden White, Khloe McGrath, Penelope McGrath, Brooklynn Price, Annabelle Adams and Nora Adams.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Rita May Crook, Henrietta Sequin, Donna Brodish, Jack Crook, Freddie Brodish, Melvin Brodish and Norbert Charles.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 8, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
