JAMESTOWN, PA (MyValleyTributes) – James Burke Kissinger, age 70, of Jamestown passed away Sunday morning, May 5, 2019 in UPMC Jameson, New Castle.
He was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, on April 19, 1949 a son of Alvin J. and Margaret J. (Burke) Kissinger.
He was a 1967 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School and was a self employed carpenter.
Jim served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
James was a member of the Jamestown V.F.W. Post # 5424 and Jamestown Fireman’s Club.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to music.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura Mae Kissinger of Jamestown; a son, Jesse James Kissinger and his wife, Rochelle, of White House, Tennessee; a sister, Jane Hephner of Sharon and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Rae Kissinger and his parents.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Inurnment will be private in Arlington National Cemetery.
