YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church for Jacqueline A Repchic, 81, who passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.
She was born July 13, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of Stephen Blasko and Anna Popson.
She was a graduate of South High School and worked for the nutrition program-site manager for the elderly in Mahoning County.
She was a member of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown, where she also worked as a secretary.
Jackie was a beautiful, giving soul who spent her whole life dedicated to God, family and friends. She was the kind of woman who saw right past your flaws to the goodness of your heart.
She was true to her old-fashioned ways and enjoyed sharing memories of her childhood and family growing up. She enjoyed game nights with her family and always looked forward to breakfast dates with her brother and sister.
The last seven years have been very trying for her, as she surpassed more trauma, pain and sadness than one should ever have to consume in their lifetime. Regardless, she was happy to spend even the hardest of days with her daughters, grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren. Anyone would have been blessed to have a mom and Baba like ours. She is now pain and suffering free and can be happily reunited with her husband, her son and all of those who have gone before her. Thank you for one last beautiful Christmas, Baba. We love you to the stars, with all our hearts. Your legacy, that you instilled in us, will forever be with us.
Surviving are her daughters, Jerrilynn (George) Valingo and Lori (John) McBride, both of New Waterford, Ohio; a brother, Michael Blasko of Boardman; a sister, Michelle Hendricks of Leetonia; five grandchildren, Jackie (Adam) Bowen, George (Sarah) Valingo, Tommie, Dannie and Anna McBride and two great-grandchildren, Aliviana and Scarlet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas J. Repchic, Sr., whom she married in 1959; a son, Thomas J. Repchic, Jr.; a brother, Steve Blasko and one sister, Rita Merz.
Friends will be received Monday, January 1, 2018 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., Youngstown, Ohio.
A television tribute will air Monday, January 1 at the following approximate times:
