HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – On September 29, 2022, after a long and well-lived life, God sent His angel to take Violet Moldovan by the hand and lead her to her heavenly home. She was 94.
Violet was born November 3, 1927, in Oliver #1, Pennsylvania, to Filippo and Filomena (DiMarcello) Antonino. Her family moved to Farrell when she was a young girl.
After graduation from Farrell High School, Violet worked at Valley Frosted, Farrell, Pennsylvania.
On April 23, 1949, she married Irvin Moldovan and moved to Wheatland where they raised two children. Violet was a loving wife, perfect mother, and wonderful grandmother and great-mother.
Violet was a member of Wheatland Women’s Auxiliary Fire Dept and Wheatland P.T.A.
She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, Pennsylvania. Violet was an excellent example of a Catholic who practiced her faith through service to family and friends.
Violet is survived by a son, Richard Moldovan; a daughter, Diane Thompson; a brother, Dan Antonino and his wife, May; two grandchildren, Eric MacTavish and his wife, Katherine; and Nicole Thompson and her boyfriend, Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Reagan, Avery, Paige and Jack; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by a sister, Concetta Antonino; and three brothers, Tony, Frank and John Antonino.
Violet will be fondly remembered and missed by many. She was a true blessing.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony Cemetery, Hermitage.
