SHARON, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Thomas Daniel Borawski, 91, of Sharon, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage.
Mr. Borawski was born October 7, 1929, in Farrell, a son of the late Daniel and Justine (Belchik) Borawski.
He was a graduate of Farrell High School.
Tom honorably served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Germany and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was employed as a building master mechanic at Ohio Bell/AT&T, Youngstown, Ohio.
Tom was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon, where he volunteered his time and skills whenever possible. He was also a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Post# 6166, Hermitage.
An avid golfer, he was in many leagues, including the AT&T League. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Tom was very “handy,” and was always willing to help others remodel or fix things.
His wife, the former Marie C. Kopnicky, whom he married September 10, 1955, in the former St. Ann’s Church, Farrell, passed away March 31, 2015.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Borawski; a son, Daniel Borawski, both of Sharon and Thomas Borawski and his wife Sue, of Obetz, Ohio and two grandchildren, Rebecca Justine and Thomas James Borawski.
In addition to his parents and wife, Tom was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Heller and six brothers, Raymond, Edward, Chester, Paul, Charles and Albert Borawski.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either: Meals on Wheels, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon, PA 16146; Special Olympics of PA, at www.specialolympicspa.org; or Whole Life Services, 1565 East State St., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hours will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 in St. Joseph’s Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage.
