SHARON, Pennsylvania, (MyValleyTributes) – Orville Paul Trowbridge, 82, of Sharon, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in his home.

Mr. Trowbridge was born October 2, 1939, in Irwin, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Clarence and Ellie Mae (Petry) Trowbridge.

He attended Mercer High School.

Prior to his 36-year career as a millwright at Sharon Steel’s former Farrell plant, he worked in the area as a farmhand.

Following his retirement, he enjoyed working alongside his grandchildren at Beighley Construction.

Orville enjoyed hunting and bowling. He was also in a CB Radio Club and went by the handle “Orbit.” Later in life, he found joy in painting, especially painting by numbers. As a racecar fan, he was honored to be a push-truck driver at Mercer Raceway Park.

His wife, the former Hazel Jane Adams, whom he married on June 29, 1959, passed away on June 20, 2022.

He is survived by three daughters, Debra Beighley, Karen Boggs, both of Sharon, and Sherry Patton (Wayne), Munford, Tennessee; four sons, Joseph Trowbridge (Dannette), Millington, Tennessee, Dennis Trowbridge (Joyce), North Lima, Ohio, Kevin Trowbridge (Sherri Kay), Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and Brian Trowbridge, Albion, Pennsylvania; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and two more on the way. Also surviving is a brother, Ralph Lawrence (Sarah), Florida.

In addition to his parents, Orville was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ralph Lawrence; and five sisters and one brother.
