HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Mary Elizabeth Jurenovich, formerly of Meadowbrook Road, Hermitage, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, in  her residence at The Village of Incarnate Word Retirement Center, San Antonio, Texas. She was 96. 

Mrs. Jurenovich was born February 3, 1924, in Hubbard, Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Domovic) Rudolph. 

She was a 1942 graduate of Hubbard High School where she was the Homecoming Queen her senior year. 

Mary was employed for nearly 40 years at the former U.S. Steel Container Products where she was secretary to the district manager and the coordinator of the Human Resources Department. 

Her husband of 66 years, Jerome M. Jurenovich, whom she married June 18, 1949, passed away July 31, 2015. 

A devout Catholic, Mary was a longtime active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Sharon, where she was past president of its Women’s Sodality and the St. Theresa Society. She was also a member of the bake sale committee, the church picnic and kitchen committees and was the May Crowning Queen on several occasions. 

She was also past president and chairperson for the Mercer County Women’s Retreat Council. Mary was a member of the former Kennedy Christian High School Golden Eagle Booster Club and the Kennedy Christian High School Parent Association. 

She is survived by three children, Dr. David M. Jurenovich of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Beth Natoli and her husband, John, of Canyon Lake, Texas and Jerome M. Jurenovich and his wife, Natalie, of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Ryan Natoli, of Chicago, Illinois, Christian and Matthew Jurenovich, of San Antonio, Texas and Brooke Maine of Mercer, Pennsylvania and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Tucker Maine, of Mercer, Pennsylvania. 

Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Max Rudolph (Barbara) and Frank “Rudy” Rudolph (Betty) and three sisters, Barbara Ryser (Edward), Anne Klecic (Frank) and Rose Novosel. 

In addition to the family and loved ones that she leaves behind, Mrs. Jurenovich leaves a legacy of love, kindness and compassion to all she met and who were touched by this extraordinary woman of faith. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 804 Idaho Street, Sharon, PA 16146. 

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant. A visitation and viewing will be in the church from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the Mass.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.
