SOUTH PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Lola Marie Cook, 75, of South Pymatuning Township, passed away Friday afternoon, March 17, 2023, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Cook was born on April 16, 1947, in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Shick) Musser.
She was a 1965 graduate of the former Franco Beauty Academy, Pittsburgh.
She worked in various shops before opening her own salon, Studio 1, in 1981. Later, she ran Lola’s Styling Salon out of her home.
Lola was a member of Family Life Church, Hermitage.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially solitaire and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Cook, whom she married on March 22, 1969; two daughters, Lisa (Glenn) Babcock of Sharon and Lorie Cook Burton of Youngstown; ten grandchildren, Cassandra (Christian) Haiss, Glenn (Angela) Babcock, Jr., Noah (Allison Surrena) Babcock, Kristina (Tim Clark) Marriotti, Justin Lassiter, Liam and Lucas Burton, Collin Rosa-Burton and Lane and Logan Burton; five great-grandchildren, Bailey and Maddox Clark, Eliza and Emma Babcock and Waylon Haiss; her special family, April Kennedy and Bill Burton and many nieces, nephews, cousin and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by a grandson, Lochlan Burton and five siblings, Joanne Roope, Joyce Bersano and George, Gene and Jim Musser.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Family Life Church, 1455 North Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hour will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23 in Family Life Church, Hermitage, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chriss Massey, pastor, officiating.
