SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – James “Jim” L. Bartholomew, 84, of Sharpsville passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, in Naples, Florida.
Mr. Bartholomew was born June 10, 1938, in Sharon, a son of the late Harold and Anne (Rohrer) Bartholomew.
He was a graduate of Sharon High School.
Following high school, Jim worked as a draftsman at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corp. Later, he was transferred to ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) Transformer Plant in Missouri. In his spare time, Jim’s side jobs included electrical work and being a locksmith.
Jim was a member of St. Bartholomew Church in Sharpsville.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming and was a talented handyman, he liked working on his farm equipment and any other project that would come up. During this last decade, Jim very much enjoyed traveling. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, LeaAnne DuMars of Sharpsville; a son, Gerry Bartholomew (Laurie), also of Sharpsville; his companion of ten years, Lorelei Olson of Naples, Florida; a sister, MaryAnne English (Jim) of Hermitage; five grandchildren, Katie Milo (John), Stacy and Brooke Bartholomew, Casey DuMars and Aaron DuMars (Alaina) and four great-grandchildren, Nora and Ezra DuMars and Adam and Carolyn Milo.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Kathryn Butch; a son, Marc R. Bartholomew and son-in-law, Bill DuMars.
Calling hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., until the time of service, Friday, February 17 J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State Street, Sharon, PA 16146; funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Very Rev. Richard J. Allen, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
