SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Darla Pendel, 77, of Sharpsville, passed away Thursday morning, March 2, 2023, in her home.
Mrs. Pendel was born on February 13, 1946, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Infante) Flickinger.
A lifelong area resident, she was a 1963 graduate of Sharpsville High School and attended Youngstown State University.
Prior to becoming a homemaker, Darla was employed at the former Bell Telephone Company in downtown Sharon. While caring for her family and home, she also worked part-time for Daffin’s Candies, Sharon.
Darla was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville.
She enjoyed being around family and friends, whether it was playing cards or board games, baking Christmas cookies with her granddaughter, or family vacations. As a child, her favorite trips were to her family’s camp and more recently it was vacationing at Geneva on the Lake. Additionally, she loved to garden, read and cheer on the Cleveland Browns.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Pendel, whom she married on February 12, 1966; two sons, Jeff Pendel and his wife Jeri, Sharpsville, and Scott Pendel, Farrell; five grandchildren, Justin (Francesca), Jordan, Jared, Forrest (Ashley), and Evan (Jenna) Pendel; and three great-grandchildren, Cache, Jett and Maizee Pendel.
In addition to her parents, Darla was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Flickinger.
