Irmgard Gada Shaffer, Warren, Ohio - obit

WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Irmgard Gada (Wiesmair) Shaffer, age 90 of Warren passed into eternal life on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Community Skilled Nursing Home in Warren of natural causes.

She was born on May 19, 1928 in Wels, Austria the daughter of Karl and Josefine (Wiesinger) Wiesmire.

Irmgard married Earl Lee Shaffer in 1947 and they enjoyed 18 years of marriage together before he passed away on May 18, 1965.  

She has lived in Warren, Ohio since 1992 formerly of Newton Falls.

Irmgard was employed as a seamstress working on seats for motorcycle. She also worked at Hudson Ceramics and Oak Rubber.

Irmgard enjoyed planting flowers, knitting and crocheting. She always had a big garden and played bingo.  

She is preceeded in death by her parents, husband and two sons Wilford Lee and Ronald Lynn Shaffer; sister, Helga Meldrum and a brother-in-law, Tom Meldrum.  

Memories of Gada will be carried on by her loving family; her daughter, Sandra Slanina of Rootstown; her sons and their wives, Jim and Vicky Shaffer of Newton Falls, Roy Shaffer of Lake Milton, Dennis Shaffer of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

Irmgard will be laid to rest next to her husband in Pineview Memorial Park.
