Irene S. Fabian, 89, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, January 2, 2019, at Omni Manor Nursing Home with her family by her side.
Irene was born June 21, 1929, in Youngstown, and was a daughter of the late John and Sophia Slanina Ringos.
She was a 1947 graduate of Chaney High School and a lifelong Youngstown resident.
Irene was a homemaker who also worked for Livingston’s in downtown Youngstown and for General Electric at the Mazda Lamp Plant.
Mrs. Fabian was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Golden Pillars, the Rosary Society and the Rosary Makers.
She enjoyed bingo, summer vacations at the Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point and trips to Las Vegas and to Notre Dame football games.
She leaves three daughters, Diane Craig of Canfield, Patricia (Joseph) Marshall of Austintown and Nancy (Jeffrey) Walsh of Youngstown; ten grandchildren, Daniel (Dr. Ellie) Craig, Maggie Craig (Ferdinand Fernando) and Kellianne and Colleen Craig, Caroline and Abby Walsh and Jon, Jessica, Melissa and Jeffrey Marshall; a great-granddaughter, Helen Rose Craig and a sister, Kathleen (John) Martini of Austintown.
Irene’s husband of 45 years, Daniel M. Fabian, whom she married July 16, 1955, passed away January 21, 2001. A brother, Thomas Ringos and a sister, Helen Saadey, are also deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a prayer service will take place at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, January 7, at the funeral home and will continue at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church on South Belle Vista Avenue in Youngstown.
Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Irene’s family sincerely thanks the staff at Omni Manor for the kindness shown and care given to Mrs. Fabian and her family during her time there.
