Private family services were held in both Youngstown and Cleveland for Benjamin James Watson, Sr., 75, who died Sunday, March 24, 2019, surrounded by his family, at the Hospice House in North Lima.
Benjamin was born January. 29, 1944, in Cleveland and came to the Youngstown area as a child. He was the son of the late Benjamin Joseph and Mercile (Boyer) Watson.
Benjamin was a machinist at Peerless-Winsmith, Inc. in Warren for 23 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers, Local Union 1618-2 for 35 years.
Benjamin enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and had deep fondness and interest in Irish ancestry history and culture.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Benjamin is survived by his daughter, Shelly Ann Watson of New Middletown and by his son, Benjamin J. Watson, Jr. of Youngstown.
He was preceded in death on October 1, 2014, by his wife, Carol E. (Bowser) Watson, whom he married January 29, 1966.
According to his wishes, private family services and burial have taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
