HEMPFIELD TWP, PA (MyValleyTributes) – H. Roger Lean, age 63, of Wasser Road, Hempfield Township, passed away Thursday morning, April 11, 2019.
He was born in Greenville on February 12, 1956, to Harry R. Lean, Jr. and Dorothy E. (Clark) Lean.
Roger was a 1974 graduate of Greenville Senior High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree In Sociology from Edinboro University.
Roger attended Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, Greenville.
Since his disability in 1977, he has enjoyed participating in swimming, snow skiing and water skiing events and had helped organize and participated in wheelchair basketball at Edinboro University. His other interests included coin collecting, reading and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his parents of Greenville; four brothers, Kevin Lean and his wife, Teresa of Eden, North Carolina, David Lean of Greenville, Brian Lean and his wife, Marge, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Eric Lean and his companion, Shelly, of Greenville and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion’s Reformed U.C.C., 260 Main Street, Greenville, PA 16125.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Lounge of Zion’s Reformed U.C.C., 260 Main Street, Greenville, Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Les Croft, relative of the deceased, officiating.
Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery
