SALEM, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Connie L. Morris, 67, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2023, after a noble fight against cancer.

She was born in Ravenna, Ohio, on April 26, 1955. She was the daughter of Charles Reno and Dorothy (McKenzie) Gibson.

Connie was the Owner of Ohio News and Lottery with her husband.

She loved the Lord and accepted Jesus as her Savior.

She was a member of the Salem First United Methodist Church and a life member of VFW Post 892.

She was one of the biggest Denver Broncos fans; a creative cook who enjoyed finding new recipes; she was known for decorating for every holiday, especially at Christmas when the street would line up with cars just to see their outdoor display; she enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, reality TV shows, shopping, spending warm days on her front porch and going to the beach. Her hospitality and joy for bringing people together made her the heart of family gatherings either at her home, a lake, or hosting a picnic at the park. Her biggest investment and joy was being a mother and spoiling her grandkids, however, her favorite part of life was being a wife to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Lou.

Survivors include her husband, Lewis Morris, whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage with this July; daughters, Dorothy (Matthew) Leyman of Salem and Connie (Joshua) Jackson of Centerburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Gabriel Leyman, Ethan Jackson, Elizabeth Jackson and Alexander Jackson; she is also survived by her siblings, Penny (Terry) Jackson of Salem, Kenneth (Melissa) Gibson of Williston, Florida, Tammy Reno of Lisbon, Dan (Rose) Reno of Alliance and Charles (Brenda) Reno of Plano, Texas. Connie was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Besides her mother and father; she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Frank Gibson and brother, Johnny Gibson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Salem First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Byron Bufkin and P. Douglas George officiating. The family will have a time of visitation the hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Because of her love of flowers, the family suggests planting or donating flower-bulbs (daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, etc.) in her honor.

A fundraiser will be held to help with medical/funeral expenses on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the Salem VFW Post 892 starting at 1:00 p.m.

Friends and family may sign the guest register and send condolences online at www.brownfhonline.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home in Salem (330) 337-6363.
