Gail Paxton Hogue of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, passed away after a long battle with pneumonia and leukemia on the morning of Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 70.
Gail was born on December 29, 1947, to Robert and Ellenore Paxton in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
She spent her life working alongside her husband, Sperry Hogue, as a missionary with the Church of Christ in Glenrothes, Scotland and then ministering together locally to the Church of Christ in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
Gail also spent over 20 years working as a guidance office secretary at Hickory High School, from which she retired in 2015.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose passion was the Lord and her family. She touched many lives as she tirelessly served and loved others. Although she will be sorely missed, we rejoice as her faith has become sight.
She is survived by her two children, Nathan Hogue and his wife, Stacey of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Kristen Renwick and her husband, John Anthony of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; as well as three grandsons, Brennan, Kellan and Jonathan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sperry Hogue, to whom she was married for 42 happy years.
To honor her heart for marriage, her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hermitage Church of Christ in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, to be purposed for a Marriage Enrichment Seminar.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.
