Mrs. Evelyn McKinney Clay, 76, of Youngstown, Ohio departed this life Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at Canfield Medical Center.
Evelyn was born to Willie G. and Carrie B. Bryant McKinney on July 28, 1942 in Manchester, Georgia.
She came to Youngstown at a young age, where she graduated from East High School in 1960.
She was a homemaker, furniture upholstery and a home health aide.
Evelyn married, the love of her life, Solomon Clay II on August 22, 1960 and three sons were born to this union.
She loved to travel, cook, play cards and bingo. She also enjoyed being with family.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory two sons, Thomas Clay and Frank Clay both of Youngstown; one sister, Anna McKinney-Grhim and three brothers, Willie(Becky) McKinney, Jerry McKinney and Randolph(Sharon) McKinney all of Youngstown. She also leaves eight grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon Clay II; father, Willie G. McKinney; mother, Carrie B. McKinney; son, Solomon Clay III and two great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jr. and Rashod, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, November 5, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m.
