HERMITAGE, PA (MyValleyTributes) – Esther L Hiryak of Hermitage passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, May 21, 2019, in The Grove at Greenville. She was 81.
Mrs. Hiryak was born April 18, 1938, in Farrell, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Gurdoski) Dyll. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharon High School in 1955.
Following graduation, Esther worked as a secretary at a local law office until pursuing a career in sales. She was first employed by U.S. Steel Corp’s former Masury (Ohio) Plant, where they sold steel drums and containers until 1985. Esther later worked in a similar capacity for Astro Container’s Oil City Division, retiring in 2003. A strong and independent woman, Esther worked diligently to provide a wonderful life for her daughter, Susan. She will always be remembered for seeking out the best in herself and others.
Esther was a lifelong member of St. Adalbert Church, Farrell.
She was a member of the Sharon High School Class of 1955 “Gals Pals” Luncheon Club and loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Gary) DeCarmen of Sharpsville; a brother, Captain Joe Dyll and his companion, Marta Amuchastegui, of Key Largo, Florida; two grandsons, Jason and John (Erica) DeCarmen; two great-grandsons, Ayden and Leo DeCarmen and a nephew, Nicholas “Nico” Dyll. Also surviving is her lifelong best friend, Rita Holliday, whom she considered family.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her former spouse, Edward G. Hiyrak and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Heartland Hospice, 3871 E State Street, Hermitage, PA, 16148.
There will be no calling hours.
In keeping with Esther’s wishes, there will be a celebratory luncheon held by family and friends.
