Dorothy Kish, 80, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born May 26, 1937 in McDonald, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nickolas and Stella Polas.

She was a 1955 graduate of McDonald High School.

She retired from the IGA (Santisi’s) in Girard in the bakery department in 2009. She previously worked at Girard Hardware and Stambaugh Thompsons.

Dorothy was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren.

She enjoyed baking, gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her two children, Katherine “Kathy” (Vincent) Sacco, of McDonald and Stelliann “Stel” (Ronald) Wood, of Delaware, Ohio; two grandchildren, Amanda (Marcell) Vitello and Michael Sacco; a sister, Helen Nicholas of Warren and her five furry grand kitties and her beloved cat, Kali.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joseph Kish, whom she married June 1, 1963, passed away on January 19, 1981 and three brothers, Charles Tambakis, William and Pete Polas.

Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 29 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Trisagion Service, and Wednesday, May 30 from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A service will be Wednesday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, with Fr. Constantine Valantasis, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High Street Warren, Ohio 44481.

Burial will be in Belmont Park Cemetery in Youngstown.

A television tribute will air Monday, May 28 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
