SALEM, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Carol Jean Balfour (Benner), 78, passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on the evening on Saturday, July 2, 2022, after suffering multiple health
issues this past year.

Carol, the daughter of Hugh and Pauline (Dallas) Benner, was born in Alliance, Ohio on September 25, 1943.

Carol’s loving husband, Howard Walter Balfour preceded her in death in 1994.

Carol is survived by her three children, Cindy (Israel) Ashwal, Bobbi Smith (Jamie Kessler) and Jamie
(Stacy) Balfour and eight wonderful grandchildren, Eli (Lexie) Ashwal, Yasmine Ashwal, Yaniv Ashwal, Cheyenne Smith, Dakota Smith, Garrett Smith, Bailey Balfour and Emily Balfour. She is the beloved sister of Patricia (Marshall) Postman of Nevada and Kenneth (Terry) Benner of North Benton. She is also
survived by five nieces and nephews.

Carol graduated from West Branch High School (1961) and has been a resident of Damascus, Ohio since 1962.

Carol had been employed by the Comfort Inn as General Manager in Alliance and Akron.

She enjoyed traveling especially out west. Carol and her mother, Pauline, both enjoyed being members of the Sweet Adeline.
