HERMITAGE, PA (MyValleyTributes) – Daniel J. Roberts, 50, of Hermitage, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, in his home.
Dan was born February 7, 1969, in Sharon, a son of the late Donald Earl and Julia Marie (Gancsos) Roberts and was a graduate of Hickory High School.
He was employed as a truck driver at Babcock Lumber, Hubbard and later worked for Werner Ladder, Greenville and Tapco, Meadville. Dan and his longtime companion owned and operated Skip Tracing, where they tracked down fugitives and repossessed vehicles. They were responsible for finding two top ten murders.
Dan was a member of Sheakleyville Church of the Nazarene and was also an ordained minister.
He was a kind and caring man who was always the life of the party. He loved to read, travel, ride his Harley, go to flea markets and fishing. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren and charity work for sick children.
Dan is survived by his companion, the former Malinda “Lynne” Swartz; a stepdaughter, Candy Lynne Greenfield and her husband, David, of Williamson, New York; a stepson, Paul Brian Brakeman of Hermitage; five grandchildren, Aislynne Langer, Dawson and Cameron Greenfield, Analissa Shafer, Kinsley Brakeman and a brother, Kirby Kirby of Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a stepson, AJ Shafer and a sister, Kathleen Edney.

Calling hours will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., until the time of the service, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State Street, Sharon.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, in the funeral home, with Reverend Lisa Grabb, officiating.
