Carol Faye Shank, 62, of Plum Street, Greenville, passed away on Monday afternoon, February 18, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on April 29, 1956 to the late Harold M. and Ruth (Stoddard) Wilson.
Carol was a 1974 graduate of Ferndale Area High School and was a homemaker all her life.
She was a very active member of her church, previously at Central Community Church in Transfer and currently at Bethel Life Worship center in Greenville.
She previously enjoyed going to church softball games and watching her husband play. She currently loved watching her grandsons, Nicholas and Justin, in all their sporting events. Regardless of who she was supporting, she never missed a game! She also enjoyed taking road trips and visiting family.
Carol was married to Gregory Paul Shank on October 16, 1976, in Johnstown and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2017.
She is survived by two daughters, Nicole Schell and her husband, Wes, of Greenville and Linda King and her husband, Andrew, of Oil City; two grandsons, Nicholas and Justin Schell of Greenville; three brothers, Fred Wilson and his wife, Barb, of Jennerstown, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Wilson and his wife, Dawn, of Scottsdale, Arizona and Mark Wilson and his wife, Rebecca, of Stafford, Virginia; two sisters, Jamie Tomlinson and her husband, Roger, of Chesapeake, Virginia and Lisa Weigel and her husband, Richard, of Southmont, Pennsylvania; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Lillian Shank of Virginia; close friends, Chris Riley, Brandon and Tiffany Fell and their children, of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Paul Shank and her stepfather, William F. Wilson.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 22, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 73-75 Columbia Avenue, Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at Bethel Life Worship Center, 246 South Mercer Street, Greenville, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, with Rev. Kent and Jerry Bell, co-officiating. There will be a period of visitation at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Cremation will follow the services and both Carol and Greg will be laid to rest, next to their son, in New Florence Cemetery near Johnstown, Pennsylvania, at a later date.
