WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Carol Ann Bloom, 85, of Warren Ohio, passed away peacefully at Washington Square Nursing Home Monday, April, 22, 2019.
The daughter of Ernest and Mertie Schmidt Braden, Carol was born on November 29, 1933 in Coshocton, Ohio.
Carol was a graduate of Liberty Union High School in Baltimore, Ohio and Grand Hospital School of Nursing. She received her bachelor’s degree from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
She was employed for many years and retired from Warren General Hospital as a registered nurse.
Carol was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church and Grant Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of the Alumni Association – NAACOG. She was also a member and a volunteer of the local Red Cross in Warren. She was a very faithful member of her church which she loved to sing in the choir.
She also enjoyed family gatherings and visits and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Memories of Carol will be carried on by her daughter, Linda Kathleen Bloom of Warren; sons, Mark Allen (Linda) Bloom of Cleveland and Kenneth Scott (Kim) Bloom of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Stevenson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mertie Schmidt Braden; her brother, Carl Braden and sister, Erma Peterson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m., at McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home.
The committal service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren, Ohio.
