SOUTHINGTON, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Virginia L. Gilmore, 84, of Southington, formerly of Alliance, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, at her home.
She was born July 17, 1934, in Upshur County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Everett and Lottie (Light) Arbogast.
Virginia married Robert K. Gilmore on August 28, 1954 and they shared 19 years of marriage together prior to Robert’s passing.
Virginia graduated from High School in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
She moved to Alliance, Ohio and then to Southington where, she was employed at AVI in the food service department for many years.
Virginia had a passion for embroidering and working on crossword puzzles.
She was a committed member on the praise team at the First Assembly of God Church in Alliance.
One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Fond memories of Virginia will be remembered by her children, David (Elainalee) Gilmore of Warren, Ohio, Donna (Jeff) Hoffman of Southington, Ohio and Debra K. (Lee) Held of Beloit, Ohio; a sister, Mary Ann Tenney of Buckhannon, West Virginia; six grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Gilmore; daughter, Vicki K. Gilmore; granddaughter, Theresa Hoffman; two sisters and one brother.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Mount Olive Cemetery, 78-536 Mt. Olive Road, Philippi, West Virginia.
