WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Rufus G. Ford, 79, of Warren, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Clearview Lanterns Estates in Champion.
He was born July 23, 1939, in Summersville, West Virginia, the son of the late Roy and Belvia (O’Quinn) Ford.
Rufus was a employed as a steelworker at Edna Corporation.
In his younger years, Rufus enjoyed working on cars. He also liked fishing, bicycling and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Mary (Richard) Stewart and Tina (Richard) Turner, both of Warren, Ohio; sister, Susie Calhoun of Lordstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Ambrosia, Victoria, Olivia, Rashawn, Alaric and Alaria and stepgrandson, Jeremiah.
In addition to his parents, Rufus was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Ford and brothers, Earl and James Ford.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Champion Township Cemetery Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery, Champion, Ohio.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
