WARREN, Ohio (MyVallyTributes) – Joseph W. Wilson, Sr., 94, of Warren, OH went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Briar Hill Nursing Home.
He was born February 18, 1925, in Warren, OH, the son of the late Clarence A. and Elizabeth (Abert) Wilson.
On July 5, 1946, Joseph married the former Norma Sigman and they cherished 72 years together.
Joseph retired from the Warren Township Road Department after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. having served during WWII.
He was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed buying and selling antiques and jewelry. Joseph was a hard worker and provider for his family. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.
Memories of Joseph will be cherished by his daughters, Connie (Patrick) Ruddy of Cortland, OH, Jan (Richard) Mahaffey of Burghill, OH and Jodi (Jeffrey) Jeffries of Warren, OH; grandchildren, Christine (Michael) Dubos, Lisa Smith, Melissa Wilson, Valerie (Mark) Munden, Joseph Wilson III, Victoria Adams, Kimberly Clauss and Kara (Gene) Cartee; ten great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lee Wilson, whom passed away March 6, 2019; son, Joseph W. Wilson, Jr., sister, Virginia Funk; and brothers, Clarence and John Wilson.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Life Church of Leavittsburg, where Pastor Rodney Mullins will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Twp., OH.
