SOUTHINGTON, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Jeffrey Scott Barker, 54, of Southington, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, surrounded by family and his loved ones.
He was born January 26, 1965, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late James and Nancy (Brady) Barker.
On August 5, 2000, Jeffrey married the former Shirley Cox.
Jeffrey was a member of Beacon of Hope Church and a member of the United Steel workers local #1375.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to country music. Jeffrey was an avid Miami Dolphins fan.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Barker of Southington, Ohio; sons, Jerry Barker and Joshua F. Barker both of Southington, Ohio; sisters, Julie Shaffer of Florida and Jodie (Jim) Kiepper of Summerfield, Florida and granddaughter, Jaycee Barker.
Besides his parents, Jeffrey was preceded in death by his brother, James “Jimmy” Barker.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Garry L. Hennessey will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 and again from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, all at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, Ohio.
Jeffrey’s strength and courage throughout his life was an inspiration to all those he surrounded.
