WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Edward L. Workman, 99, formerly of Warren, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2019, at the Holy Family Hospice in Parma.
He was born September 19, 1919 in Adelaide, Pennsylvania, a son of John W. and Anna Louise (Momeyer) Workman.
Mr. Workman moved to the Warren area in 1944 and worked as an inspection foreman for the former Packard Electric Corporation in Warren for 40 years, prior to retiring.
He married the former Hazel McFadden on September 28, 1946. They shared 42 years of marriage and many happy memories together until her passing February 14, 1989. He then married the former Catherine Taylor on May 26, 1990 and she also preceded him in death.
Golfing and bowling were among his favorite hobbies. A lifelong animal lover, Mr. Workman served as a foster caregiver for The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs in Cleveland. He was also a volunteer for Trumbull County Mobile Meals for several years.
Edward is survived by a daughter, Dr. Deborah S. Workman of Cleveland, with whom he made his home for the past three years and numerous nieces and nephews in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Besides his wives, Edward was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sally Workman; three brothers, Albert, Earl and James Workman; a sister, Doris Bollinger and a nephew, Danny Bollinger.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Avenue, with Pastor James Dittmar officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to services from Noon – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at the funeral home.
Edward will be laid to rest next to his first wife, Hazel in the Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
