WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Edward L. Collins, Jr., 76, of Warren, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2019, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 20, 1942, in Warren, a son of Edward L. and Essie May (McCoy) Collins.
Edward was a 1960 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was employed as a steelworker for the former Republic, LTV, WCI Steel in Warren for several years, prior to retiring.
He married the former Robbie J. Haynes on February 20, 2002. They shared 17 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She survives him.
Edward enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved playing cards with his family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ciera M. Collins of Warren and four stepchildren.
He also leaves behind five siblings, Abigail Keen of Warren, William (Alma) Collins of Indianapolis, Indiana, Floyd (Joyce) Collins of Columbus and Viola Collins and Bertilla Collins, both of Warren; several nieces and nephews, including Timothy and Curtis Keen of Warren, whom he thought of as sons and several stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and his stepmother, Henrietta Collins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Avenue, Warren with Pastor James Dittmar, officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to services from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warren.
A television tribute will air Wednesday, April 17 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
