LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Denny L. Taylor, 69, of Leavittsburg, Ohio passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital.
He was born September 8, 1949, in Widen, West Virginia, a son of the late Andrew F. and Bertha (Phares) Taylor.
Denny graduated from Leavittsburg High School and went on to serve two years active and seven years as a reservist with the U.S. Army.
He retired from Predator Trucking, Inc. after 20 years of driving truck.
His memberships include the American Legion Leavittsburg Post, Cortland Moose Lodge, Trumbull Boat Club and the Kinsman Conservation Club. Denny volunteered with the Red Cross as a damage assessor and he loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving are his companion of 15 years, Candace Newell of Leavittsburg; a son, Victor Roddy of Dallas, Texas; three stepdaughters, Fay Eisenbraun of Darlington, South Carolina, Lisa Redick of Dallas, Texas and Darcie Roddy of Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Fritts of Melbourne, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and nine sisters.
Memorial services will be officiated by Denny’s niece, Chaplin Loretta Kish at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the funeral home prior to services.
The family requests that material contributions be made to the American Red Cross, 3530 Belmont Avenue #7, Youngstown, OH 44505 and the Second Brigade, in lieu of flowers.
A television tribute will air Monday, April 8 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
