Betty P. Davis, 94, of Warren, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
She was born March 6, 1925, in Bazetta, a daughter of the late August and Emma (Keever) Pykare.
Betty was a 1943 graduate of Bazetta High School and spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.
She married Edward G. Davis, Sr. on October 13, 1951. They shared almost 46 years of marriage and many happy memories together until his passing on July 13, 1997.
Betty was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren, where she served as a former Elder and Sunday school teacher.
She was also a former band parent at Warren G. Harding High School and she enjoyed needlework, reading and traveling.
She is survived by two children, Edward G. (Judy) Davis, Jr. and Joyce M. Davis, both of Columbus. She also leaves behind three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Pykare of Howland.
Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Bruce A. Davis; her parents; her stepmother, Ellen (Jarvis) Pykare; four brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in the chapel at Shepherd of The Valley, Howland, 4100 North River Road NE, Warren, OH 44484, with Pastor William Leitch, officiating.
Friends may call 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 25 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Avenue, Warren and from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Monday 26 at Shepherd of The Valley.
Betty will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to Shepherd of The Valley, Howland, in Betty’s memory.
