BROOKFIELD, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Ronald “Ron” E. Simco, of Brookfield, Ohio, was called home on Monday, December 14, 2020, while a patient at St. Joseph Medical Center, Warren, Ohio, following complications with COVID-19. He was 83.

Ronald was born January 28, 1937, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to Stephen and Vera (Hromyak) Simco.

He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1955 and was drafted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was last assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, of the 81st Armor Division as an Armor Crewman in Fort Hood, Texas. His decorations include being a sharpshooter in Rifle, 30 Sub-Caliber, and Pistol. He was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of Sergeant.

He retired as an Office Manager for Warren Pump and Supply Company.

He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Vienna, Ohio.

In his spare time, he was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. In addition, Ron loved restoring his Oldsmobile’s. However, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, meant the world to him.

Survivors include his wife, Donna M. (Marmion) Simco, whom he married May 21, 1960; his daughters, Lynda Hudson, Diane Mesmer, Laddie Simco, all of Brookfield and Debbie Katzman, of East Troy, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Justin (Chelsea) Simeon, Alainna (Randy) Knight, James Hudson, Bill (Kelsey) Mesmer, Rachel (Scott) Julian, Jordan (Christa) Mesmer, Brian Beshensky and Shelby Katzman and his great-grandchildren, Keegan, Fionn, Ellie, Brynn, Ada and Greysun.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Simco.

A private family gathering is being scheduled.

He will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
