WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) - Beverly Gray Raines, 97, of Summerfield, Florida, formerly of Warren, passed away early Saturday morning, December 1, 2018, in Summerfield.
She was born August 9, 1921 in Fairbank (Republic), Pennsylvania, a daughter of Fred M. and Jennie (Stewart) Gray.
Beverly was employed by the Warren Telephone Company, Daniels Motor Freight and Ohio Fast Freight, from which she retired in 1984.
She married Warren A. Raines on May 16, 1942. They resided in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania before moving to the Warren area in 1955. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1990.
In 2013 Beverly moved with her daughter and son-in-law to Summerfield, Florida.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and trips to the casinos. She and Warren belonged to the Good Sam camping club and enjoyed camping with their many friends and wintered several years in Mission, Texas. She also loved playing 500 bid cards at the Virginia Graham Senior Center in Warren.
Beverly will be sadly missed by her daughter, Barbara (Rick) Sewell of Summerfield, Florida, formerly of Champion; her sister, Janet (Kenneth) Murray, of Potomac, Maryland; two grandsons, David T. Sewell (Sami) of Tampa, Florida and Douglas R. Sewell, DMD (Cathy) of Denver, Colorado; three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Ethan and Lucas and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Fred M. Gray, Jr. and Irwin R. "Ron" Gray; a sister, Audrey Hackney and a grandson, Darren Sewell, MD.
Private funeral services were held at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Avenue, Warren.
She was laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Champion Township Cemetery, Champion, Ohio.
