Betty Jane Acklin Cabala, 89, of Youngstown, Ohio, departed this life peacefully Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 4:22 a.m. at Omni Manor Nursing Center, of natural causes.
She was born August 29, 1929 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Ockle and Julia Kovach Acklin, Sr., residing in the area for 22 years, coming from Sagamore Hills, Ohio.
Mrs. Cabala was a waitress for many years and enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, casinos and being with her family.
She married Steve Cabala, who died in 1996.
She leaves to mourn two sons, Dean Lazzaro of Orwell and Gene Lazzaro of New Lyme; one brother, David (Emma) Acklin of Brunswick; four grandsons, Scott (Kim) Lazzaro, Matthew (Alicia) Lazzaro, Timothy (Rachel) Lazzaro and Daniel Lazzaro; two granddaughters, Mrs. Tami (Zac) Coles and Ms. Jodi Lazzaro; three great-grandsons, Alec Cole, Conner Lazzaro and Hunter Neil; two great-granddaughters, Ms. Piper Cole and Ms. Kaylee Neil; sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion (Bill) Schieberl, who she was very close with and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ted Acklin and Ockle Acklin, Jr. and one daughter-in-law, Ms. Sylvia Lazzaro.
