VIENNA, Ohio – Arthur S. Cornfield, 87, passed away on Thursday morning, November 2, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Arthur was born on October 30, 1930 in Niles, Ohio, a son of the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Shields) Cornfield.
He was a 1948 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and served his country in the Korean War for two years.
He was employed in the steel industry and retired from Allied Metals and Levi Steels. He was a very proud of man structural steel fabrications he built in the local area.
He was a member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church and served as past Sunday School Superintendent.
He was a member of the VFW Post #3521 in Vienna, Ohio.
Arthur will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Eva (Griffin) Cornfield of Vienna, whom he married on June 4, 1953; his children, Darald of Hubbard, Ohio, Jeffrey (Valerie) of Champion, Ohio, Michael of Vienna, Ohio, Holly of Romulus, Michigan and Allison (Rob) Hicks of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandchildren, Dolly, Ryan, Jennifer, Jeffrey and William Cornfield; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kelsie and Brady and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Florabelle and brother, Maynard.
Funeral services for Arthur will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lane Family Funeral Home Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, Ohio, with Pastor Tom Badanjek officiating the service.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tod Avenue United Methodist Church and the American Cancer Society.
