Amy Jean Simpson Carson, 58, of 2303 Stephens Avenue NW, Warren, Ohio, departed this life Monday, January 28, 2019 at 8:26 a.m.at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following a cardiac arrest.

She was born June 27, 1960 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of John and Christine Dennis Simpson, Sr.

Ms. Simpson was employed with Trumbull Memorial Hospital for 35 years as a dietary worker, before retiring in 2016. She also worked for ten years as a Mary Kay Distributor.

She was reared in the Faith at Evans Temple C.O.G.I.C. and attended Second Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts, dancing, crocheting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She was a 1978 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.

She leaves to mourn three daughters, Mrs. Shameika (Rev. Todd) Johnson, Mrs. Antoinette (John) May and Ms. Raven Carson all of Warren; her mother, Mrs. Christine Simpson of Warren; three brothers, John (Shervon) Simpson, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Willie (Valerie) Simpson of Duluth, Georgia and Don (Jessica) Simpson of Cincinnati; two sisters, Mrs. Cynthia (Kelvin) Newell and Ms. Rosa Simpson both of Warren; nine grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church.

Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday, February 2.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 999 Miller Street SW, the home of her mother, Christine Simpson.

A television tribute will air Friday, February 1 at the following approximate times: 6:41 a.m. WYTV and 8:41 a.m. MyYTV and 9:58 a.m. on FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
