MECCA TWP., Ohio (WKBN) - Investigators in Trumbull County have identified a woman found dead along a road in Mecca Township.
Trumbull County Sheriff Paul Monroe said the woman, 26-year-old Rachel Cella, was reported missing by her boyfriend on Sunday afternoon. He told police that she had not been using any drugs nor was she suicidal.
Her boyfriend discovered her body Monday morning along State Route 46, just past the Lake Tavern, lying in a grassy area just off of the road.
Monroe said Cella was last seen at the Lake Tavern, where employees reported that she was "very intoxicated." The employees said they asked her and her friend to leave due to Cella's "disruptive behavior" but could not say what happened after she left.
Cella lived within walking distance of the bar, Monroe said.
A man reported seeing her hanging out of a vehicle, shouting at him, while it drove down Griffith Drive around midnight.
Cella left her purse and phone in a vehicle and had nothing on her except for her debit card and identification, her boyfriend told police.
The cause of death is unknown at this time, as Cella didn't appear to have any visible injuries. There were no obvious signs of foul play, Monroe added.
