The WKBN 27 Caring for Our Community campaign honors local juniors and seniors in our Tom Holden Memorial Scholarship competition. In 2019, more than 225 entries were recieved from across our Valley.
We would like to congratulate our 2nd place winner – Gianna Williams, a senior at Hubbard High School, who wrote her PSA about the American Cancer Society.
PSA SCRIPT:
(Cancer Survivor 1) In (year diagnosed) I was diagnosed with (cancer diagnosed with).

(Cancer Survivor 4) (cancer diagnosed with)
(Doctor) In 2018 about 1,735,350 people will be diagnosed with cancer and only about 1,125,710 people survived.
(Cancer Survivor 1) Surviving cancer is not easy, nor something to forget about.
(Cancer Survivor 2’s daughter) I don’t know where I’d be without my mom, (tells mom and puts arm around mom) Your my hero.
(Cancer Survivor 3’s husband) My wife is everything to me and without her life wouldn’t be the same (hugs wife and tells her) Your my hero.
(Cancer Survivor 4’s Father) My daughter is the light of my life and the apple of my eye. I can’t imagine life without her. ( tells daughter and kisses her head) your my hero.
(Cancer Survivor 1) Everyday is a blessing so why not celebrate?
