Rod Cowan joined the WKBN-27 First News Storm Team in 2018 as a weekend weather anchor and reporter.
Born in Aliquippa, Pa., Rod is a graduate of South Side High School in Hookstown, Pa. After high school, he continued his education at Ohio University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication. He also is a graduate of Mississippi State University, earning a degree in Broadcast Meteorology.
Prior to joining WKBN-27, Rod worked for a number of television stations including WOAY in Beckley, W.V., WOWK in Huntington, W.V. and WCAV in Charlottesville, Va.
When away from the weather center, Rod enjoys spending time with his two dogs as well as fishing, enjoying the outdoors and catching up on the latest films and music.
Rod is very excited to be in the Mahoning Valley and looks forward to sharing the science behind weather forecasting with viewers.
