Liam Garrity joined the WKBN sports team in August 2023.
Liam was born in the Northern suburbs of Chicago, in Northbrook, IL.
He graduated from the University of Missouri in 2021, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Journalism, emphasis in Radio-Television.
Liam has two minors in Political Science and Sociology.
During his time at the University of Mizzou, he worked as a sports and news reporter at KOMU8 News.
KOMU8 news is one of the only commercial full-power television stations owned by a public university.
Liam covered MU, local college and high school sports.
Before joining WKBN, Liam worked as a news reporter for KY3/KSPR news in Southern Missouri.
Liam covered crime, politics, sports, and breaking news in Southwest, MO.
Liam’s passion is sports and wants to continue WKBN’s immense sports coverage. He is excited to tell stories about sports and showing viewers who athletes really are.
He is a Steelers fan, but enjoys soccer, Formula 1, basketball, baseball, and hockey.
Liam is also an avid golfer and tennis player.
