
Laurel Stone is a Production Associate, responsible for contributing to WKBN web content as well as running camera for WKBN-27 News.
Laurel grew up in Beaver County, Pennsylvania before moving to Boardman in 2018. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in professional and technical writing.
During her time at university, Laurel worked at The Jambar, primarily as Head Copy Editor. Other positions she filled at the paper included: columnist, social media manager, puzzle creator and newspaper distributor. Through her and the rest of the editorial team’s efforts, The Jambar was awarded first place for website design and news coverage by Ohio News Media Association.
She was very active in student organizations, including President of the Society of Collegiate Journalists, Social Media Chair for Alpha Lambda Delta, the Clarence Gould Honor Society, ‘Guins Against Cancer, Guinathon, and Spanish Club.
When not working, Laurel enjoys painting, hiking and curling up on her porch with a good book.
